AN INTRODUCTION TO FOREX

The Forex (Foreign Exchange Market) is considered to be the world's largest and most liquid trading market. Trading in the Forex market can be an excellent home based business if you are willing to learn the different techniques that are used or if you are using an Expert Advisor (Robot) to perform trades for you. More and more investors are adding the Forex into their overall investment portfolio. Forex trading should be consider a long term investment.

The Forex market trades in currencies. You place trades using your computer or over the telephone. The Forex market is not bound by any one trading floor and is not centralized on an exchange, such as the stock and futures markets. That's why the market is considered an over-the-counter (OTC) or Interbank market due to the fact that the entire market is run electronically within a network of banks continuously over a 24-hour period.

Basically, a Forex trader is simultaneously exchanging one country's currency for another country's currency. All currencies are traded in pairs with a base currency and a quote currency. The base currency has a value of 1 and the price that is quoted by the Forex market is the exchange rate between the two currency pairs that are being trading. In this example: EUR/USD - the base currency is the Euro and the quote (or counter) currency is the U.S. dollar. If the last trade for this pair was 1.4054 then for each Euro you would receive 1.4054 U.S. dollars.

The daily trading volume on the Forex market is approximately $1.7 trillion dollars. As with any investment trading, there is a risk to trading in the Forex market. You can minimize the risk by practicing your trading techniques using a demo account, which most Forex brokers offer, prior to trading with real money. You can also use an Expert Advisor (Robot) that will automatically open and close trades for you. The hardest part of Forex trading, as with any investment trading, is to make your decisions based on facts or technical indicators and not emotions. That why an Expert Advisor is a good option for new or inexperienced traders.
